Our practice is a training practice to both hospital doctors and Medical Students who are already training to become doctors.
Hospital doctors are mid or late point in their final training stages, but are already qualified and registered with the GMC. They are placed in General Practice for approximately 4 months to gain experience outside of a hospital setting and capture insight to see what it is like to be a GP. These doctors are eager to meet patients with varying conditions in a non hospital setting. Please give them your time as these are the doctors are the future of the NHS.
We also have signed up to take medical students from University who are on the pathway to becoming a doctor, they spend allocated time with the practice and sometimes you may be asked to see the doctor or nurse with a student present. You will always be asked beforehand if this is acceptable and you can ask for the student to withdraw from the consultation if you prefer to speak in private.
